Today was Sunday.

Larry Purdue today in Sunday school said something about people in the Bible that knew God's acts but not his ways. This triggered the thought in me that people sometimes want God to be their need meeter but they don't want to take time to get to know Him. The thought that hit me hard is this: God is a PERSON. Wow! If you want to love someone then you get to know them as a person. You find out who they are and you ask them questions. Sweet!

I challenged my worship team this morning in our devotional to use their faith for something special this week. It could be something that has annoyed you for a while or it could be some situation you are confronting. I have been convicted by Jesus words where he said to his disciples that could not cast a demon out, "You of little faith and perverse generation. If you had faith the size of the grain of a mustard seed you would say to this mountain move and it would cast itself into the sea." Obviously I don't use my faith for much of anything drastic. I need to get this show on the road and stop being wimpy.

Today is Thursday.

Andrew is at the church running sound for the Cajun Clickers computer club.

Today was a half day at school with a teacher meeting from 12:30 to 2:45 PM.

I just finished playing in 16 evening services and a few morning services as well. I played the keyboard as well as planning the worship list, rehearsing and playing most of the altar services. I have only had two nights off in the last 2 1/2 weeks, that was Saturday nights. After you do something like that for such a long period you forget what it was like to do anything else.

I thought school went well today. I jokingly said to my students, "I am so glad the Seniors are not at school and they are on their Senior retreat." We watched two episodes of Destinos videos in my Spanish classes today. The students had to locate 20 verbs from each episode and list them on a sheet of paper. I had to set one student outside the door of my class during Spanish II because he would not give me the time of day and ran his mouth for the first 10 minutes of class. I told him that it was "ridiculous" how he was running his mouth nonstop. I am glad I got him out of the class for a few minutes. It gave me a chance to cool down and manage my class better.

In Guitar class we started learning the Star Spangled Banner. We stayed in the classroom today instead of heading over to the balcony of the church where we normally practice.

Donna, my wife, is still having a rough time dealing with some of the challenged students in her class. There are a few that cannot stay on task no matter how many times she redirects them. We both feel that there are students permitted into her grade without proper adherence to standards of entrance. It is very hard for Donna to manage her class, teach and bring along a few kids that have severe processing problems.
