December 21 2010 Disconnect Oxy Sensor

Had termite man come out. We probably don't have termites! That made Donna very happy. I also laid down for a nap for a few minutes. My mind was working on a solution for the 1997 Dodge Intrepid I was working on today. I suddenly opened my eyes when it hit me: what if i disconnect the oxy sensor? The result is that it works better than when the sensor is sending bad readings to the car's computer. Bad readings make the car jerk all over the place and mess up the oxygen measurements. Sure enough. The car at least is drivable without jerking all over the place. This also tells me that the sensor itself is likely the problem. Very cool. I am a "pumpkin genius banana" according to Matthew, my son. That is a saying he came up with when he was a young kid.

Had a flash of insight. This will illustrate what a slow learner I can be:
Advice if you are a father of teenage children:
Do not get $20 bills when you ask for money back at the bank or the supermarket. Ask for $5's and $10's. Otherwise when you give your money away you have to give away larger bills. It is better to give away smaller bills. Hello!

December 10, 2010

Today was Friday. Very busy week. Performed with the Applied Music class of 12 student, 6 times today in the elementary school. Caroling Marathon: Theme fast vs. slow carols. Student pretend arguing about which type is best. Have to hug and apologize at end. On Wednesday they performed to the middle school and three classes together at preschool.

One student was defiant today. Had to excuse him from class. Would not stop talking during reviews for final even after two very stern warnings. Very sad.

Best thing that happened today was when T. fell on the floor while we were performing to a class of elementary kids. It was hilarious!
